7th Annual Breaking the Silence Walk for Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness is Sunday Sept. 29, 2019

The local area nonprofit organization Speak Out Against Suicide will be holding its annual Breaking the Silence Walk at 1 PM on Sunday Sept. 29th in Camanche, Iowa.

The walk starts at the Imperial Lanes Bowling Alley located at 1823 S Washington Blvd, Camanche, IA , and participants can chose from the 1.5 mile family walk or 3 mile run/walk. Along the route, participants will see signs placed in memory of loved ones lost to suicide. Before the walk starts, attendees can choose to partake in the silent auction, raffle ticket drawing and learn about area agencies and programs that are working to treat mental illness and prevent suicide.

Bridgeview CMHC has been the grateful recipient of donated funds, $78,500 total, from Speak Out Against Suicide and its fundraisers over the past seven years. Bridgeview uses these funds to pay to operate its suicide and mental health screening program in the Clinton County school districts’ middle and/or high schools. This community/agency partnership is saving lives and improving the quality of young people’s lives!

Registration for this walk is online at GetMeRegistered.com. Cost is $15 for people 11 yrs. old and up and includes a short sleeved t-shirt. Cost is $20 if a person wants a long sleeved tshirt.
